It’s really not so scary! With just over a month away from Halloween, it’s that time of the year when ghosts, villains, and a variety of our Disney friends in their best costumes, make their way through the streets of the Magic Kingdom in the Boo to You Parade! While you’d normally need to have a ticket to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party to witness this spooky processional, the Disney Parks Blog has conjured up a spell to bring it to you at home this Friday night with a live streaming event!
Visiting Walt Disney World during the early fall has its benefits, including smaller crowds and opportunities to experience Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. But early fall is also smack-dab in the middle of hurricane season and there’s always at least a small chance that your Disney vacation can be impacted by inclement weather. Just over a week ago, Hurricane Irma plowed through Florida, with Disney World in her path. Coincidentally, the day Irma passed through central Florida was to be the day our Disney World vacation ended.
The days are getting longer, the temperatures are getting warmer, and it’s clear that summer is upon us. And there’s no better place to be this summer than at Walt Disney World or Disneyland where summer is heating up with lots of exciting new attractions and activities. In the Magic Kingdom, summer starts tonight with the debut of Happily Ever After, an all new nighttime spectacular featuring fireworks, lasers, and projections on Cinderella Castle.
When stars are born, they possess a gift or two. One of those is, they have the power to make a wish come true. We have just found out that the Disney Parks Blog is planning to present a Wishes live streaming event this Thursday night! Wishes has been the Magic Kingdom’s nightly fireworks show since 2003. It features some of the most amazing pyrotechnics you’ll ever see, choreographed to classic Disney music.
Disney has just announced Happily Ever After, an all new nighttime spectacular coming to the Magic Kingdom. Combining incredible music, amazing castle projections, and breathtaking fireworks, Happily Ever After begins lighting up the Magic Kingdom on May 12th. To get an idea of what to expect, Disney has shared a video about the making of Happily Ever After that you’ll definitely want to watch. Unfortunately, the long-running nighttime show Wishes will end on May 11th to make way for Happily Ever After.
Can you believe it’s already November? The holiday season is upon us. Holidays are traditionally spent with family and friends, eating lots of food, exchanging gifts, and being thankful for the blessings we are given. There’s no place like home for the holidays. But for many Disney fans, "home" means Disney World! We love visiting Disney World during the holidays. Our very first trip to Disney World was during the holiday season and almost all of our visits (all but two) have taken place while Disney World is celebrating the season.
For the past few years, Magic Kingdom guests have celebrated a world filled with magic with Celebrate the Magic projection show. That show lights up Cinderella Castle for the last time on November 3rd to make way for an all new projection show, "Once Upon a Time" which premieres on the night of November 4th. Join Mrs. Potts (from Beauty and the Beast) as she tells Chip a bedtime story including scenes from favorite Disney stories from Peter Pan, Cinderella, Bambi, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and others.
As we’ve reported before, the Main Street Electrical Parade will be leaving Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on October 9th to return home to Disneyland. Before it leaves the Magic Kingdom, however, there’s one more chance for all of us to watch it roll down Main Street U.S.A. The Disney Parks Blog has just announced that they’ll be live-streaming the Main Street Electrical Parade this Sunday night, August 28th, at 8:55pm Eastern.
Starting in October, Sam Eagle, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and other Muppets can be found in the Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square for a retelling of events in American history. The Muppets Present…Great Moments in American History will take place several times daily just outside of The Hall of Presidents and will feature an original song along with the Muppets' own unique brand of humor. Rumors about the Muppets appearing in Liberty Square started appearing over a month ago and some have noted some minor construction work in the windows near The Hall of Presidents as evidence that something was about to happen.
One of the biggest decisions you’ll make when planning a Disney World vacation is whether to eat a good breakfast before going to the parks or going straight to the parks to be the first in line for some of your favorite attractions. Now you can choose both if you take advantage of "Disney Early Morning Magic". On select mornings from 7:45-10:00am, a very limited number of guests will be the first to enter the Magic Kingdom and Fantasyland.
