When’s the last time you visited Disney World or Disneyland? A few months ago? A few years ago? When you were a kid? Never? No matter when you last went on a Disney vacation, there’s a lot of great reasons to look forward to on a visit to Disney World or Disneyland in 2017. Pandora in Disney’s Animal Kingdom This summer, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the biggest Disney theme park in the world, will receive it’s biggest expansion ever: Pandora - The World of Avatar.
Can you believe it’s already November? The holiday season is upon us. Holidays are traditionally spent with family and friends, eating lots of food, exchanging gifts, and being thankful for the blessings we are given. There’s no place like home for the holidays. But for many Disney fans, "home" means Disney World! We love visiting Disney World during the holidays. Our very first trip to Disney World was during the holiday season and almost all of our visits (all but two) have taken place while Disney World is celebrating the season.
For the past few years, Magic Kingdom guests have celebrated a world filled with magic with Celebrate the Magic projection show. That show lights up Cinderella Castle for the last time on November 3rd to make way for an all new projection show, "Once Upon a Time" which premieres on the night of November 4th. Join Mrs. Potts (from Beauty and the Beast) as she tells Chip a bedtime story including scenes from favorite Disney stories from Peter Pan, Cinderella, Bambi, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and others.
If you’re anything like me, you enjoy reading, but struggle to find books that both capture and hold your attention. As a Disney fanatic, however, I’ve discovered that there are countless books available about Walt Disney, the Walt Disney Company, and the Disney Parks. On the off-chance that some of our MouseGuests readers are looking for a good book to read, I though I’d write some book reviews on this blog, sharing my thoughts on some of the best Disney books I find.
After the switch for Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights was turned off for the last time last year, it left many Disney World fans wondering what, if anything, Disney’s Hollywood Studios would offer for the 2016 holiday season. Today we’ve learned that Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!, an all-new fireworks/projection show is debuting this holiday season. The premise of this show is that Santa Claus has gone missing and Wayne and Lanny, the elves from Prep and Landing are leading the search.
As we’ve reported before, the Main Street Electrical Parade will be leaving Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on October 9th to return home to Disneyland. Before it leaves the Magic Kingdom, however, there’s one more chance for all of us to watch it roll down Main Street U.S.A. The Disney Parks Blog has just announced that they’ll be live-streaming the Main Street Electrical Parade this Sunday night, August 28th, at 8:55pm Eastern.
After its most recent 6 year run in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, the Main Street Electrical Parade will return to Disneyland for a limited engagement in early 2017! Starting in Disneyland in 1972, the Main Street Electrical Parade has a long history of crossing the country, having rolled through the Magic Kingdom 3 times and once each for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. It will close its current run in the Magic Kingdom on October 9th.
Starting in October, Sam Eagle, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and other Muppets can be found in the Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square for a retelling of events in American history. The Muppets Present…Great Moments in American History will take place several times daily just outside of The Hall of Presidents and will feature an original song along with the Muppets' own unique brand of humor. Rumors about the Muppets appearing in Liberty Square started appearing over a month ago and some have noted some minor construction work in the windows near The Hall of Presidents as evidence that something was about to happen.
It has been an amazing July for Disney Parks fans who enjoy bringing Disney into their home. The Disney Parks Blog has been live-streaming every Monday, starting with Celebrate America from the Magic Kingdom on July 4th. Then we watched Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire from the Magic Kingdom on July 11th. And just last week we tuned in to watch Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular from Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Tonight, the Disney Parks Blog wraps up a month of live streaming with the dazzling Paint the Night parade from Disneyland.
Yesterday at San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, dropped the announcement (see what I did there?) that a new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction is coming to Disney California Adventure. The new attraction, named Guardians of the Galaxy-Mission BREAKOUT!, is slated to open next summer. Fans of the Marvel Universe will finally have an actual attraction in a Disney Park. Up until now, the Marvel presence in Disney’s U.
