Disney World guests are accustomed to seeing dogs like Goofy and Pluto roaming about. But starting yesterday, Disney World resort hotels have started opening their doors to more four-legged friends, allowing guests to bring their dogs to stay with them in the resort hotel rooms. This development may be raising a few questions for dog-lovers and non-dog-lovers alike. The pilot program is currently limited to only four Disney World resorts: Art of Animation, Port Orleans Riverside, Yacht Club, and Fort Wilderness.

One of the most popular Spring-time events in Walt Disney World, the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, blooms today for the 2017 season. From now through May 29th, visitors to Epcot will be able to experience a celebration of Spring, complete with colorful flowers, unique topiaries, outdoor kitchens, exhibits, seminars, how-to demonstrations, and the Garden Rocks Outdoor Concert Series. Disney has just announced Happily Ever After, an all new nighttime spectacular coming to the Magic Kingdom. Combining incredible music, amazing castle projections, and breathtaking fireworks, Happily Ever After begins lighting up the Magic Kingdom on May 12th. To get an idea of what to expect, Disney has shared a video about the making of Happily Ever After that you’ll definitely want to watch. Unfortunately, the long-running nighttime show Wishes will end on May 11th to make way for Happily Ever After.
Although it was hit by nearly a year of delays, Disney has announced that Rivers of Light will officially debut on February 17th. Rivers of Light is a new nighttime entertainment offering that will take place on the Discovery River in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Including water screen projections, animal-shaped lanterns, inspiring music, and (of course) light, Rivers of Light weaves a story of nature in a timeless celebration of water and light.
During today’s earnings call, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that the long-awaited Pandora - The World of Avatar will open in Disney’s Animal Kingdom on May 27th! This ambitious project, which has been years in the making, bring the world of the Na’vi people from James Cameron’s Avatar to life. The new land will boast two attractions--Na’vi River Journey, a boat ride through a bioluminescent rainforest, and Avatar Flight of Passage, a flight above the world of Pandora atop a Banshee-- as well as a new dining experience, shopping experience, and more.
